2018 wedding guide
Hey there! You’re probably overwhelmed with all the wedding information out there, but don’t worry, you’re not alone. I am here to help make your lives a little easier!
The information in this planning guide is meant to help you through (almost) all of your photography-related questions, so you can be relaxed and exited for your big day.
If you still have questions afterwards, don’t hesitate to get in touch! I am here for you every step of the way.
I understand looking for a wedding photographer can be a little challenging since there are so many different choices and styles of photography around - I’ve been there myself.
I don’t want to be complicated and would rather just let you know upfront; like what I offer on your big day and how much it is going to cost. There is no time for secrets!
I split the coverage up into sections so it’s easy for us to put together a schedule, and so you know exactly what parts of the day I’ll be photographing. Here is a breakdown of the different parts of the wedding day I cover:
The morning of the big day always has an exciting energy of the wedding party buzzing around like busy bees. This is a perfect time to photograph details like shoes, bouquets and dresses. Also, it’s a great opportunity for me to meet everyone and get them used to having a camera around.
I like to keep this time around 30-45 minutes after everyone is completely done with hair & makeup & finishing up on last minute details. I would ask that whatever little details you would like to have photographed be all together in one location ready for me to photograph!
Don't want to be on the hunt for 20 minutes for the groom's ring or the bride's veil that has gone missing! It's happened before!
I always highly suggest giving "the gathering of details" a job to a trustworthy bridesmaid! One less thing for you, the bride to worry about on your big day!
wedding day tips
Gather all your details before the day starts so I can photograph them quickly! This makes the getting- ready portion of the day go by much more smoothly, and it allows me to spend more time focusing on the spontaneous moments when everyone is together.
Here is a list of ideas: ring, jewelry, hair pieces, flowers, shoes socks, cuff links, letters, pictures, gifts, invitations, programs, printed pieces, and any unique items you treasure!
even the little details count
Some of my couples’ favorite images from their wedding day end up being the detail shots.
Details help tie everything together and tell the story of behind the scenes moments.
Think about getting a wooden hanger for your dress.
They photograph well and are a great keepsakes for years to come!
REMEMBER TO RELAX & ENJOY THE DAY
I cover everything from the guests arriving to the excitement immediately after, and - provided I'm given permission by your registrar all the bits that happen in-between.
“HAPPINESS IS ANYONE AND ANYTHING
AT ALL, THAT’S LOVED BY YOU.”
I try and time this when the light is at its best. (usually before reception or before sunset) The shoot is always a lot of fun and the best time to document amazing photos of the two of you on your own.
I like to take a relaxed approach to my group photos but if you want more ‘formal’ shots of your family & friends this usually takes place just after the ceremony. I advise you keep this to around half an hour.
This is where I blend into the background and let you catch up with your guests. At this point I'll also take photos of your table
settings, cake and reception décor. I’ll also be there for your speeches, whether before, after or even during your meal.
